What Do You Wear To Ride In During the Summer?

Hello, equestrian friends! As we close out the first quarter of the year, I begin thinking about changing out my wardrobe. My mom used to do this each spring when the seasons transitioned from winter to summer and then back to winter. Now I find myself doing that with my riding clothes. I tend to wear different riding attire depending on the season and that got me wondering do other people do the same thing?

I tend to be a breeches girl year round. I like the structure of breeches and the stability I feel in the saddle when wearing them. The Evolution by Evolution are the breeches I have the most of and ride in 90% of the time. Once I find something that works for me, I have a hard time shifting to something new. However, when it is surface of the sun hot in Texas, I like a good pair of tights.

I have found that breggings are a really nice highbred of the breeches and tights. I particularly like the Sloane by Halter Ego. The fabric has a more cotton feel to it, but do not let that deceive you. They have  an amazing moisture wicking ability and are very comfortable to wear when it is hot outside. I have found that I like them in the colder months as well. They are so easy to put a layer under while staying comfortable in and out of the saddle.

Back to tights. In the past I have found that a lot of times they are not as flattering to someone with a rounder figure. And traditionally, they were not made with a material that I felt gave me the security in the saddle as breeches that I like. I recently decided to give Divine Equestrian tights a try. These tights are made of a nice compression material that smooth out some of the parts of me that are not my "favorite". After you ride in them a few times, I discovered that they really mold to YOUR body, and stay in place like the more structured breeches do. This gives me the security I like in the saddle and the relief from riding in the summer heat that I was searching for.

I hope this gives you some insight into the different options we offer for summer riding breeches, tights and the inbetween. We want you to feel comfortable as the temperature goes up so that you can spend as much time as possible with your horse doing what you love. As summer gets closer what are you planning to wear?
